Amid The Cruel Winter Snow is the winner of the New Haven Oratorio Choir's Composition Contest. The composition was premiered by the choir and harpist Grace Cloutier under the direction of Artistic Director Daniel Shaw at their December 15, 2013 winter concert, at the Church of the Redeemer, New Haven, CT.


Program Notes

This prayerful carol extols the star of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. Opening with three repeated harp harmonics suggesting bells, the two verses that follow describe the mysteries of the Christmas star while the chorus glorifies God for His Gift to all the world.
