Dies Irae was premiered on July 19, 2008 at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival by the SSMF Festival Brass, Sewanee, TN, David Brockett, Conductor.


Michael Arndt conducts the Middle Tennessee State University Symphonic Brass in a performance of DIES IRAE for Brass and Timpani on November 12, 2011 at the MTSU Brass Performance Clinic.



Program Notes

Dies Irae is a majestic and dramatic fanfare for brass and timpani. The famous Dies Irae motive is quoted in the middle of the work, and appears again to reinforce the triumphant conclusion.
